Finding Childhood Craft Treasures IV: Granny Squares and Weird Looking Objects

Ah. The good old granny square. Tucked away in an old closet in my parents' home in India were four granny squares. Again, no memory of making them--but I am pleased to say that they are mine :)

The bonus find was this pink object. I was learning how to crochet in the round and I remember being very frustrated that this silly thing was not lying flat. Don't bother explaining to a 11 year old about the "science" behind adding more crochet stitches as one goes along.

Hello, thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a comment. I poked around your site for a bit and you have gorgeous photographs! Love the shots of the coffee plantation and the ceremonies. Hope you're having a good time in India.

Incidentally, I too began with crochet as a kid - last summer my mother brought out this crocheted top I made as a child, which was like one large granny square! Fun to find these old childhood creations. Enjoy!

Hello Rima,

I hope you have thought of a way of keeping your 'finds' safe for the future. Thank you for posting on my blog and for your kind comments about my charity blanket project.

Thank you also for the link to the Gift Along blog as this sounds wonderful.

I am also a cross stitcher so we have that in common too though I have pretty much stopped now because of my eye problems.I also grew up in NJ so NY was our nearest city for 'treat' outings when I was young!?

Your pictures of India are lovely.I am embarrassed to say I had never seen a coffee bean actually growing before *blushes*!

Best Wishes, Lindsay :0)
