Handicrafty Home Improvement

Every time I get back from India, I turn the house upside down. Basically because I need to find a place for everything I got back, (and yes, figure out what to do with what was there before!). This time was no different. The saga continues.

Indian embroidery patchwork wall-hanging (from Goa) in the living room. The creases are driving me insane, but they must wait to be ironed out in the weekend.

Framed Brass-work in the bedroom

Wood carving and hanging glass lanterns

You would think that Sarawati, the Hindu mythological Goddess of Knowledge, would inspire academic life...

The cutest find from Bangalore. Suketu loves elephants, so we collect cool, unique elephant inspired stuff. This is what happened when Ganesh and Gandhi met one sunny day.

Lastly, a framed gift from my brother and sister-in-law

I got so carried away with all the home improvement stuff, that I painted the foyer yellow. Bright, "I need sunglasses" kinda yellow.

All the home improvements look great! I am in the middle of something, too, but the house hasn't been put back together yet. Yikes!

You have color! I love color. I got tired of trying to pick colors for our house, so I just had them paint nearly every room white. Now we want to paint several of them.

Lovely. I have only one brightly colored room in my house - it's the kitchen and it's almost the same color yellow you chose.

Where did you find the spinning Ganesh???? That is so cool. I have a friend back home who would love something like that.

Life here is getting a little too busy- feel like I hardly have time for knitting these days!!!
