Indian embroidery patchwork wall-hanging (from Goa) in the living room. The creases are driving me insane, but they must wait to be ironed out in the weekend.
Framed Brass-work in the bedroom
Wood carving and hanging glass lanterns
You would think that Sarawati, the Hindu mythological Goddess of Knowledge, would inspire academic life...
The cutest find from Bangalore. Suketu loves elephants, so we collect cool, unique elephant inspired stuff. This is what happened when Ganesh and Gandhi met one sunny day.
Lastly, a framed gift from my brother and sister-in-law
I got so carried away with all the home improvement stuff, that I painted the foyer yellow. Bright, "I need sunglasses" kinda yellow.

I love the hanging glass lanterns. And the yellow walls - so cheerful!
Everything is so wonderful! What a beautiful place you have.. and I just LOVE the yellow.. I also have a yellow room.. my bathroom! Its an eyeopener in the morning. So... Welcome Back RIMA!
All the home improvements look great! I am in the middle of something, too, but the house hasn't been put back together yet. Yikes!
everything looks so great! seems like you had a wonderful trip and were able to bring a lot of home back to NY with you! welcome back!
You have color! I love color. I got tired of trying to pick colors for our house, so I just had them paint nearly every room white. Now we want to paint several of them.
They all look so elegant! I love the yellow!
what a lot of beautiful things you brought back! I hope to see you soon. :)
Lovely yellow walls. :) And the spinning elephant--what a find!

Ganesh meets Gandhi -- that is SO cute :) If you find that missing, you know it's me, haha... (Just kidding!)
I love the peek into your house. What a treasure box. That spinning elephant is the best. Good find.

My office is a similar color too. Now need to decorate
Totally love the hanging glass lanterns
Lovely. I have only one brightly colored room in my house - it's the kitchen and it's almost the same color yellow you chose.
The post India makeover looks lovely:) BTW, I brought back the same brass wall hangings from India when we were there this summer (the ones on the right). The Ganesh/Gandhi is adorable!!!
Oh just love those hanging lamps and the embroidary hangings! Beautiful!
Do hope you had a great time--welcome back!
Where did you find the spinning Ganesh???? That is so cool. I have a friend back home who would love something like that.
Life here is getting a little too busy- feel like I hardly have time for knitting these days!!!
SO gorgeous, Rima. Your house is incredibly vivid and lovely! And I agree, the color sets off your beautiful things.
Love the pics!! Is the Gandhian Ganesh from the CWC shop?
Such lovely things. The wall hanging is my favorite. Sounds like you had a great trip.
