An extraordinary man

Thank you so much for your best wishes. It means a lot to me.

My father visited us in September, and stayed with us until mid October. Over the years, especially after moving out of home eight years ago, I have been fortunate to spend a lot of "down-time" with him--where we just relax, talk, and introspect.

Many things I am, and many things that I believe in, I have learned from my Dad. It is because of him that I understand tolerance and respect difference. It is because of him that I have learned to challenge the "normal." It is from him that I get the strength to navigate this wonderful life and make hard, difficult decisions. My father is my best friend and my life long mentor. I cannot imagine a day without him.

Here are some pictures of my Dad, Suketu, Suketu's parents, and me from the engagement party and a couple of days later at the city clerk's office.

PS: I have been trying to figure out how to post an enlarged version of them, but no success. Just click on them for a larger view.

Love the pictures. You look so beautiful! Thank you for sharing your stories about your dad - it brought tears to my eyes!

And of course - congratulations! I too had mixed feelings about the legal-ness of marriage, but 17 years later have never regretted my choice :)
