Just when I thought I was settling down from the India trip, my Dad arrived from India. Just when I was getting used to taking him out and showing him the sights, Suketu and I had an engagement (or what I call "celebrating our relationship") party. Just when I decided to buy thank-you cards, we got married. Yes. Just like that. We decided late Tuesday evening and walked into the city clerk's office this morning.
After being together for almost three years, Suketu is today my "husband". Though I admit that this is a challenge,--between my life around and my ideas about state, marriage, and paperwork--today is a very happy day. Our parents are terribly happy and that makes me happy. So very happy.
