In true Indian style, the grandmothers spent yesterday fixing up sweet boxes to distribute amongst family and friends. Like in most cultures, something sweet is given out on happy occasions. (Ah, the life Cupcake has). More than the sweets, I always look forward to the packaging.
In true blog/virtual style, here are some celebratory sweets, from us to you. With much love.
Homemade Laddoos (Sweet stuff rolled into a ball)
Organizing the boxes
Nuts and Sweets in the box
Now you know what I mean--these are the boxes (!) Available in stores at Newark Avenue, Jersey City, New Jersey

I love to read about different traditions, and I like yours, I think that is a wonderful way to celebrate a new life. Thank you so much for all this virtual sweetness :)
Ooooh.. I want some sweets!!! I usually eat Galab Jamun when I go to Trinidad. It that the same thing as what you made? And, I loke the name for her.. Cupcake. So cute!
Yum, that's my favorite kind of ladoo with the roasted fragrance. The boxes look amazing I didn't realize that these were available in North America. Knitting assistant - fantastic idea!!! I should probably teach Kiki to seam, weave in ends, block maybe even steek. Then all I need to do is knit, pure bliss!
I can't believe these boxes are available in the US. Thanks for the sweets, they were yummy!
I think the sweetest sweet was that first picture! Have fun getting used to your new knitting kingdom!
