Shrug it off.

Not rocket-science, but it did take a whole year to finish this one. I began making this little shrug just went I got pregnant last year, and finished it in February this year. A whole darn year. And then some to blog about it. PS: Photography by Oiyi.

I have never worked with mercerized cotton for adult clothing before--while making the shrug, it was so heavy, I thought I was dragging my whole life along with it. But after finishing and blocking it, I love it. The garment has a great texture and shine to it--and the stitch definition comes through very well. A little pick-me-up, on the days when you need that extra something.

Yarn: Knitting Fever King Tut (2.5 skeins)

Oh I love this pattern! I have made 2 shrugs with it for myself. Selfish, I know, hehe.
And guess what, I'm currently working on a 3rd version of this pattern, with some modifications, to make it into a cardigan! Keep our fingers crossed that it will work.

Beautiful! I love the colour! I know what you mean about dragging your whole life along with it :) I started making something for myself in cotton and just found it too heavy. Had to frog and start something with looser stitches. I've started to go back to knitting a bit and need to have a look at your lovely projects for some delicious ideas :)

Super cute. I really like it with the longsleeved tee underneath. Yay for finished, photographed projects.

Great shrug! I made one a little like this in cotton that was very cute, but a bit too small for me so I gave it to my mom who LOVES it.
I love knitting with cotton! It is heavier than wool, but there's just no need for wool where I live and I love the way the stitches look.
