A Poncho also went to India

_DSC1980

One of the most fun things about the India trip was going there with handmade gifts. Gone are the days (I mean, specifically for the urban, middle/upper class--who make up a miniscule percentage) when chocolates and clothes from "abroad" made enticing presents. And hey, nothing can hold its own against something handmade, can it?

This poncho was for my sister-in-law. A simple, stockinette piece, started a few months before I had Anya and finished when the kid was three months old. Washed and blocked two weeks before our India trip. A total of...err, many months. Lets skip the math.

For those of the mindless-knitting clan, this is a winner. My friend, Nadine, gave me her poncho recipe, and helped me figure out how many stitches to cast on. After that, one just has to keep knitting. And knitting some more. I am definitely going to make one for myself. Some day.

Yarn: Spud and Chloe, sweater (worsted weight)

It looks great on her!

I think the pics of M are deceptive. She is skinny and ends up looking longer on camera. She is still a tiny little thing. I think she has grown 1/2 inch since you have seen her.

This looks really nice! Thanks for the Bombay Love pattern. I've used it to make a sweater for my littlest guy. I've posted a few pics on my blog.
